Authentication
Authentication is the process of verifying that someone or something is who they say they are.
A simple form of authentication is a username and password. More complex scenarios of authentication use digitally signed certificates, keys and other methods. Email authentication greatly simplifies and automates the process of identifying email senders by identifying and verifying the claimed domain name form the sender.
