As markets change, terminology changes, too. The MidMarketer world is filled with expressions and acronyms packed with opportunity…and sometimes confusion. When you need to understand “what they’re talking about,” check out the MidMarketer glossary. You’ll not only get the definition, but a MidMarketer editorial aiming you in the right direction, or at least giving you our opinion on the subject.
Conversion Rate
The percentage of a positive action that a MidMarketer would count as a "conversion." Conversion events include (but are not limited to) a sale or a request to receive more information. For example, the conversion rate of visitors that subscribe to a newsletter = number of visitors divided by number of subscribers. If a Web Site has 10,000 visitors and 500 subscribe, the conversion rate equals (500/10,000) x 100 - or 5%
Higher conversion rates generally translate into more successful campaigns. If your conversion rates seem low, you may want to check the following...Is the value proposition strong enough? Is the proposition aimed at the right audience? Why wouldn't people want to convert?
