CPA
An acronym for Cost-Per-Action. The cost to an advertiser for a specific action taken by viewer/consumer. For example: Advertisers only pay for the visitors who click on their banner and then sign up, fill out a form, or purchase something on their Web site. This is most common for Affiliate Programs.
CPA requires that referred visitors do more than visiting the advertiser's Web Site in order for the publisher to get paid commission. The advertiser must convert that visitor first. It is in the best interest for the publisher to send the best targeted traffic to the advertiser as possible to increase the chance of a conversion. The risk and loss is shared between the publisher and the advertiser.
