As markets change, terminology changes, too. The MidMarketer world is filled with expressions and acronyms packed with opportunity…and sometimes confusion. When you need to understand “what they’re talking about,” check out the MidMarketer glossary. You’ll not only get the definition, but a MidMarketer editorial aiming you in the right direction, or at least giving you our opinion on the subject.
Deep Linking
Deep linking is the process of web pages (internal or outside) linking to a specific document within a set or collection of documents, allowing users to bypass welcome pages, introductions, etc. This process helps to facilitate indexing of the pages by Search Engine Crawlers.
It may also apply to instances when a link bypasses a page indicating the terms of use or specific copyright information. If a site posts where a link should refer as part of the terms of use for material contained within their Web Site, it is wise and prudent to follow those specific terms of use.
