As markets change, terminology changes, too. The MidMarketer world is filled with expressions and acronyms packed with opportunity…and sometimes confusion. When you need to understand “what they’re talking about,” check out the MidMarketer glossary. You’ll not only get the definition, but a MidMarketer editorial aiming you in the right direction, or at least giving you our opinion on the subject.
Sender ID
Sender ID Framework (SIDF) is an IP-based authentication solution for email designed to fight SPAM as well as increase trust and confidence. Sender ID works by verifying that an email message originates from the Internet Domain that it claims to have been sent from. Verification is performed automatically by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the recipient's mail server before the message is delivered to the user's inbox.
In order to implement Sender ID, you need to publish proper SPF records. Make sure your IT department and your Email Service Provider have this set up for your email marketing efforts.
