Monitoring and measuring marketing content
Monitoring your content never ends. Create some simple excel files to track content topics if you don’t already have an automated content management system.
Pick a few customers you know. Then picture them in your head. Imagine what they would say after reading the content. Would they honestly find it interesting or valuable?
When you’re done writing a draft, try to be objective. Are your words meaningful to the audience? Less is more. You already know that people scan text versus reading it and attention spans are getting shorter, thanks to information overload. If you don’t have something valuable to say, don’t say it.� On the other hand, that doesn’t excuse you from generating a news release, blog, etc. at least once a month.
